Do Your Dance (Ska Version)

by Yogoman Burning Band

/

about

This song was written on NYE 1999 by Jordan Rain/Yogoman as a personal resolution to dance whenever inspired to no matter the place. "One life live it up that's how we do" is a quote from the song. See the video that goes along with it at YouTube search Yogoman Burning Band - Do Your Dance Version. This is the second recording of this song. The first version is on Pass The O (debut album) and is more of a Surf/Soul version.

lyrics

Hey, I'm talkin' to you
Gotta get up and shake off your blues
It don't matter what you're wearin' cos it's love were sharin'
Said hey, I'm talkin' to you
Because you got one chance to do your dance so do it right now baby

I got a little somethin' for yall to hear
they come from uptown downtown turn around what's that sound
Hmm papa ooh mama you got to check it cos them dancin' creepy fools come on and wreck it
Because you got one chance to do your dance so do it right now baby

You gotta help me out because I can't do it alone
You're in the audience I'm on the microphone
I gave it to you, now you give it to me
That's what I call a little bit of reciprocity
Because you got one chance to do your dance so do it right now baby

Bridge:
Ladies they go solo, guys they always follow,
you know that you need to feel good
Standin' on the wall, starin' at the ball, you'll only be wishing you could
Whenever you've got the in the inclination to move,
don't let you're own thoughts get between you and you
Whether you're old, or whether you're young
you know the real thing is when you're havin' some fun

You got one life live it up that's how we do
We go uptown downtown turn around and what's that sound
Hmm papa ooh mama you've got to check it cos them dancin' creepy fools come on and wreck it
Because you got one chance to do your dance so do it right now baby

You gotta help me out because I can't do it alone
You're in the audience I'm on the microphone
I gave it to you, now you give it to me
That's what I call a little bit of reciprocity
Because you got one chance to do your dance so do it right now baby
